    Description

    Late Summer is made entirely of copper except for the base plate (iron). The background of the work depicts a woman listening to a poem about shells (honegai) on a beach at the end of summer. The shells represent the dead, the woman's family, or perhaps her lover. What kind of poem does the woman hear from the shell at the very moment when the sun is about to set at the end of summer? ⁉️ The woman's hair is curled up by the beach breeze, signaling the end of summer already. The work is made in two ways: each part is attached by argon welding, and the hair on the head is attached by melting small copper chips with argon welding.

    Concept

    to be updated I use copper in my work. I use copper in my work because I am attracted by the fascination of the color change that only copper possesses. Copper was the first metal that mankind ever came into contact with, and it was a mysterious metal. I believe that when mankind witnessed the brilliance of copper in their hands for the first time, they must have seen the existence of God in its beautiful luster. I have a number of copper works in my studio, which have slowly changed in color over the years. Most of my work is made by melting small copper chips with argon welding and attaching them together to form a shape, but sometimes the copper does not flow as calculated because of the flame that creates the piece.     Does this art work need a frame?

    In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

    • If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
