    1. Materials: Woodblock, paper, and acrylic board are used to create a shape and design with the smartphone in mind. Also, I am conscious of the vertical screen of landscape painting.

Concept: This work was inspired by landscape painting. The landscapes depicted in these paintings are man-made nature, which was the utopia envisioned by the people of the time. I took the idea and composition of these landscapes, added some modern elements, and adapted it to my own style, focusing on current issues, especially the extinction of species.

Technique: I use pen and watercolor. By placing animals, people, and buildings from various regions of the world like stickers in a single landscape painting, I emphasize the fact that this is an artificially created space. The addition of the kintsugi effect and the cracks in the screen suggest the fragility of both the real and virtual worlds.

Materials: Using wooden board, paper and acrylic board, I made a shape and design of smartphone. Also I wanted to create a vertically long rectangle like Shan Shui painting that inspired this artwork.

Concept: The object painted on Shan Shui is artificially created nature and it was an utopia for the people of China in around 11th century. Based on this idea of Shan Shui and its design, I created it on my own way adding contemporary elements and tried to aim attention at on-going problems such as the massive I created it on my own way adding contemporary elements and tried to aim attention at on-going problems such as the massive extinction of spieces.

  • About this artist

    Concept

The main themes of my work are artificiality and nature, and recently I have been working on the concept of "bringing the artificial closer to nature. Humans are moving further and further away from nature, the place where we were born and a part of it, and closer and closer to the man-made things we create. The result, I believe, is problems such as climate change. By conceptually bringing manmade and nature closer together, I am attempting to bridge the distance between man and nature, both within the viewer and within the artist himself. The main theme of the artist's artworks is "The artificial and nature", and he's recently created with a concept "To get the artificial closer to nature". The human beings are rapidly getting away from nature where they are from and belong to, and approaching to the artificial we make. Artist is trying to close the distance between the human and nature inside beholders and artist hisself while getting the artificial and nature closer conceptually.
