Material: Painted and drawn directly on recycled cans. Climate change, plastic pollution, and other anthropogenic activities are having a greater and greater impact on nature, and in combination with the increase in man-made resources, we are using fewer and fewer resources. In this context, the series "Organic Concept" is created through the process of upcycling.

Inspiration: The organic drawings are inspired by moss and lichen. Therefore, I named my work Mosschen, combining the English words moss and lichen. This work is part of a series called "Organic Concept," which was created based on the concept of "bringing the artificial close to nature. By painting Mosken on an empty can, which is a man-made object, in all white, the artist attempted to conceptually bring the man-made closer to nature.

Technique: I believe that both man-made and natural things are fragile and ephemeral, so I used ceramics, which I consider to have elements of both. The white is a light gray to give it depth, and a glossy varnish is applied to the finish to give it a porcelain-like sheen. The blue drawings are done with a pen and improvised without much thought.

This artwork is from a series called "Organic Concept", and its concept is "Getting the artificial close to nature". Painting a can which is an artificial object into a solid white and drawing Mosschen on it, I try to get the artificial close to nature conceptually.

Technique: As I think both the artificial and the natural are fragile and ephemeral, I make the works of this series imitating ceramics. I actually use the color light gray instead of white to create a richness and brilliant varnish to give them a brightness like a ceramic. Blue drawing is improvised by only a pen trying not to think much.

  • About this artist

    Concept

The main themes of my work are artificiality and nature, and recently I have been working on the concept of "bringing the artificial closer to nature. Humans are moving further and further away from nature, the place where we were born and a part of it, and closer and closer to the man-made things we create. The result, I believe, is problems such as climate change. By conceptually bringing manmade and nature closer together, I am attempting to bridge the distance between man and nature, both within the viewer and within the artist himself. The main theme of the artist's artworks is "The artificial and nature", and he's recently created with a concept "To get the artificial closer to nature". The human beings are rapidly getting away from nature where they are from and belong to, and approaching to the artificial we make. Artist is trying to close the distance between the human and nature inside beholders and artist hisself while getting the artificial and nature closer conceptually.
