    Description

We are pleased to introduce two beautiful flowers, Digitalis and Lilac. Digitalis is a perennial herb native to Europe, characterized by its tall, spiral-shaped flower spikes. Its flowers are often described as "pure," "simple," and "virtuous," giving an impression of purity and elegance, making it a graceful presence in gardens and flower beds. Lilac, on the other hand, is a flower that has been popular since ancient times. It has a strong, aromatic, and gentle fragrance. Its flower language often expresses healing and happiness, such as "purity," "gratitude," and "happiness," creating a gentle atmosphere. Lilacs are also called "messengers of spring" because they bloom in spring, reminding us of the arrival of spring. How would these two flowers together create an attractive design? I would incorporate them into a garden, patio, or European-style interior. The spiral-shaped spikes of digitalis combined with the gentle hues of lilac would create an elegant and graceful look. The height of the digitalis combined with the lush foliage of the lilac can add depth to the space and create a more three-dimensional impression. In addition, the combination of the lilac's fragrance and the foxglove's clean, elegant floral language can express healing and happiness. By combining these two flowers, we can create an elegant and graceful design while bringing out the charm of the season and the flowers themselves. Digitalis and lilac, each with its own charm and characteristics, can be used together to enhance their beauty. In floral design and in life, it is important to cooperate with each other while taking advantage of each other's features. Flowers have different languages and characteristics, but when they bloom together, they enhance their beauty and heal people's hearts. We, too, can create beautiful things by making the most of our own characteristics in cooperation with those around us. As a floral designer, my goal is to create beautiful designs while taking advantage of the charm and characteristics of each flower. Using digitalis and lilac together, I can create elegant and graceful designs, bringing out the season and the charm of the flowers. The beauty of the two flowers can be combined to bring healing and happiness to a space. In this way, flowers, each with its own language and characteristics, cooperate with each other to enhance their beauty and heal people's hearts. It is important for us, too, to make the most of our own individuality and characteristics while cooperating with those around us to create something beautiful.

  • About this artist

    Concept

Botanical Photo Composition. That is how I describe my artwork. Over the course of my many years as a florist, I have learned both the Japanese aesthetic of flowers as an ikebana flower arranger and the Western aesthetic of flowers as a floral designer. However, I have long felt frustrated that the beauty of the flowers I see and display every day cannot be reproduced in real life, no matter which photographer I ask. To "arrange flowers" is to ask the flowers and intentionally place them, in other words, to composite them. I realized that unless the photographer can capture the imagination of the flower arranger in his or her mind, the beauty of the flower as I see it cannot be expressed. I decided to stop leaving the photographing to others, and to photograph each flower, leaf, and branch from the perspective and angle that I myself, a long-time flower artist and hanashokunin, had intended to use to arrange the flowers, so that they would appear as individual elements, but also in harmony with the other elements at the end. I decided to photograph each flower, leaf, and branch from a viewpoint and angle based on the intent of the work. In this way, the materials for digital ikebana were freed from the constraints of season and space, and became flowers dreaming of the time when they could be arranged. I cut out these flowers, curated them according to my imagination, combined them, composed them, and composited them onto a digital canvas to present the beauty of flowers that I have witnessed and discovered in the many encounters with flowers over the course of my half-life. In this sense, I am just one of the representatives and agents of the beauty that flowers reveal.
