Embarking on a journey into the heart of the untouched wilderness in the United States is a captivating adventure, especially when the journey is heading towards the elusive beauty of national parks such as Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, where access is often limited.
At the end of May 2018, I had a 4-day adventure into those pristine landscapes, with the desire to capture their timeless allure. Each morning I was up before dawn, so eager to seize every precious moment those parks had to offer.
However, the capricious weather seemed to have its own plans, shrouding parks’ magnificent scenery mostly in grey, as if it were playing a spirited game of hide and seek with me and my camera.
But the climax awaited on the very last morning! The sky was finally clear, unveiling a cerulean canvas unmarred by a single cloud. A flawless tranquillity settled over the scene. Then as the sun rose above the horizon, while walking alongside the lake, a breathtaking spectacle emerged – majestic mountains mirrored perfectly in serene waters. The zephyr, carried in fresh air, painted a hint of ripples across the waters as if nature were to partake in this exquisite dance of reflection.
Camera in hand, I succumbed to the spectacle and kept on pressing shutter after shutter, trying to capture the ephemeral moment as a tribute to the grandeur of nature.
When I started editing the images, I noticed over the lake was an ethereal mist like a hidden veil adding a touch of allure to the narrative. I elevated the mist’s presence and infused the image with evocative coolness to amplify the emotions and mood of that moment.
The image was subsequently published on 1x.com, the world’s largest curated photo gallery online.
