Description

This painting was inspired by ideas and theories on the origins of our species and other organic life on earth. The spiraling shapes are abstracted depictions of ancient ammonite fossils and DNA strands grow from the depths of a cosmic ocean. Physical dimensions and biological beings mutate as millennia of evolution are suggested in one snapshot image
The moon is also potentially a child of earth's rock and influences the cycles of its mother's life forms. Its energy animates the vital element of water which itself provides breeding grounds and life support for these forms. A deeply ponderous and philosophical piece, I got lost for weeks in this!

Concept

My paintings are a merge of philosophy and fantasy, they are journeys towards reconnecting the human spirit with its origins within both physical and spiritual dimensions. I take inspiration from the natural sciences as well as from mythical nature spirits and deities thus treating themes of ecology and the environment from a more metaphysical perspective. It is my aim to incite a greater appreciation of the systems, rhythms and patterns of our beautiful existence.

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
