    Description

    The motif this time is a goat. The driftwood this time has a lot of knobs, so I thought I would make the most of them. I also found another piece of driftwood that looked like twisted horns, so I used the "Markhor," a goat that lives in the Himalayan Mountains, as a partial reference. The horns are not as twisted as a merquor, so the result is a mix of different types of goats. The pedestal is included in the piece.     Concept

    While strolling along the beach, you may come across driftwood that looks somewhat like an animal. I carve driftwood to embody this inspiration. I use the interesting characteristics of driftwood, such as bark, cracks, and branching, to create sculptures that resemble animals. Driftwood sculptures cannot be made entirely from driftwood because of the shape of the driftwood. I feel that there is a "beauty lacking" that is born from not being able to create everything. The texture and shape created by the passage of nature are unique. That is why no two pieces are alike.

    Does this art work need a frame?

    In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.
