Description

Photograph of reflections taken in Bilbao. When the Nervion River passes through Bilbao it becomes a fantastic mirror reflecting images of its buildings. The images created by the light on the water in continuous movement are captured by the camera and the result is usually surprising. On this occasion my mind was released imagining the idea of floating tigers. The image expresses contrasts, dynamism, movement, vitality... In this image remains the idea of fusion between the photographic capture looking for effects similar to painting. This photograph has been made by capturing the image originated on the surface of the sea using photographic techniques without alterations generated by computer. Concept

I feel a natural tendency towards abstractions, and I am especially attracted to reflections on the surface of the sea, free from any reference to reality. These reflections, free of any reference to reality, allow me to express a liberation from the routine, the conventional, and at the same time share a journey into a parallel universe where imagination reaches further than vision. Also with these photographs I try to merge the photographic medium with results similar to painting. They are photographs with the appearance of paintings trying to free photographic art from an imitation of reality. However, my photographic captures paradoxically record another reality (a distorted, unrecognizable reality): they are distorted images floating on the surface of the sea. For this I use exclusively photographic techniques and post-processing is limited to minimal adjustments. This tendency towards abstraction does not prevent me from enjoying other more realistic subjects, although looking for a different reading of what is represented.
