    Description

Titled Whispers of Silence, by 2024, this work was created to explore the fragility and strength of human existence in the vast, limitless nature of the earth and the universe. The chaotic textures and soft curves symbolize the raw energy of the natural world and the human spirit that internalizes it. The painting is both a cross-section of the earth's rock layers and at the same time a collection of tiny particles drifting through infinite space. In our daily lives, when we tend to forget the difference in scale between the two, "Whisper of Silence" provides an opportunity to look at our own origins and demise, and to rediscover our self in nature. Through this work, I hope that viewers will experience the overwhelming beauty of nature and the moment-to-moment blink of human existence in the serenity inherent in it. Our daily lives are often filled with hustle and bustle, and our worries and joys are tiny compared to the grandeur of the universe. However, I hope that through this work, viewers will deepen their self-awareness as part of nature and sense the intangible bond between the universe and the earth. A theme that constantly runs through my work is how special and yet humble our existence is in the larger context of the universe. Our lives, emotions, and thoughts are like fleeting flashes in the history of the planet Earth and the infinity of the universe. Nevertheless, I continue to express my belief that infinite beauty and meaning reside in each of these moments. In all of my work, I pay homage to our common experience as human beings, to our common home, the earth, and to our common origin, the universe, and to the importance of our being one.

  • About this artist

    Concept

As a sumi-nagashi painter sensitive to the transience of nature and the inner movement of humanity that responds to it, ANYO is passionate about capturing the rhythm of life in each moment of the natural world and expressing it through the shades of ink. His work depicts the wild undulations of the waves, the curves created by the wind, and the quiet movement of flowing water in an attempt to convey the power and beauty of nature. His journey as a painter goes beyond visual expression, offering the viewer the opportunity to connect with nature and embark on an introspective journey. His art encourages a dialogue with nature that explores the fragility and strength of humanity within this shared earth. His ink paintings fuse Eastern philosophy with Western aesthetics to present a unique perspective on the breath of nature. Weaving traditional techniques with contemporary sensibilities, he strives to open up new horizons for sumi-e.
