Pure encaustic, hot wax, and pigments on OSB panel.
It is part of my Birds series. Birds are recurring motifs in my creative life, I have a natural attraction for them. Symbols of freedom, inspirations for the aircraft, who also moved into cities together with us with the advent of the modern age. Different birds have different characters. The cute and wise owl, the smart and mysterious raven, the naughty seagull evoking the infinity of the seas, and the gentle city bark, the pigeon is all a spot of color. Although their facial expressions are not perceived, their movement and posture convey a wide variety of emotions.
In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. Due to the OSB board, these works of art are very stable but heavy. This is recycled art.
The painting is made with self-made paint, which basically consists of pigments and beeswax. Does not contain oil or other paints.
The procedure itself dates back to antiquity and has been known for thousands of years. Only a few artists around the world work with wax on their own.
This work will be delivered with Care Instruction of my encaustic paintings and a signed Certificate of Authenticity. I ship this works in cardboard boxes carefully wrapped in bubble foil and protecting the painting with cardboard. If you like my paintings you can have a piece of art for your beloved place.
