    Description

    I painted this masked girl before she transformed into "Kino Ranna" from the "Mask Works" series. I hope that I was able to express the emptiness of the transformation pose in such a nondescript place. This emptiness stems from the fact that I was raised (or felt) negatively about liking boys' culture in my childhood. Now that I am an adult, I can do whatever I want with whatever I like, but I wish I could have enjoyed it in real time when I was a child.

    She only wanted to be honest to communicate with people, but honesty has been hurting various people until now. However, she did not mean that she wanted to hurt someone, she just wanted to tell the truth. Therefore, she started to use a publicly stated opinion and sarcasm to express true feelings. She creates artworks with the feeling that “I tell you what I have been thinking about and what I am thinking about in a funny and beautiful way that does not hurt others”. In recent years, she often expresses how to get away from people and things and also expresses using motifs that make you feel a “filter” such as a portrait that covers faces. This way of keeping the distance between one and the other, hiding one’s identity is very interesting because it is both her personality from childhood and a modern sensation like SNS.
