When I was but a wee lass, my dad brought me to an art studio for children. I remember that day — I was terrified! Did I think of being a painter? No way. I did luck out with the teachers, though. They were truly talented creators, amazing mentors and very kind people. With just a few classes my outlook on the world was changed forever. I saw a myriad of hues around me and realized how tricky and beautiful color really is. And I knew then: I am to become an artist.
Having finished school I aimed to do something creative. I learned designer’s trade at the university and went on to work for an artistic goods manufacturer. It was the creative climate there and my colleagues that made me plunge into the world of painting again. I dabbled with graphic works, then watercolors and acrylics. In April 2021, I tried oil paints for the first time and fell in love with them completely.
I am deeply drawn to the marine theme, as I feel incredible energy in the sea. Its changeability and gradations of color are driving me crazy! I’m also very much concerned about ocean ecology. It is our duty to care for the environment, so that its beauty remains in real life and not just on canvas.
