Green Idleness

I was inspired to paint the painting by Green Idleness, (1911) Willard Leroy Metcalf, 1858−1925, an outstanding American landscape painter who, within the framework of this genre, wrote a variety of subjects with equal success. His paintings reflect maritime stories, exotic corners, snow-covered forests and fields, summer views, somewhat reminiscent of Russian nature. The artist worked in the style of impressionism.
A curious fact that confirms Metcalfe's creative success is the cost of one of his paintings. Benediction (1923) sold for $ 13,000, the highest price ever given for a work by a living American artist. The largest collection of Willard Leroy Metcalfe's work is now at the Florence Griswold Museum (Old Lyme, Connecticut).

Concept

I often compare painting and music: artists play with paint on canvas as musicians do on instruments, feeling real pleasure and giving the pleasure of art to others.

I was born in 1980 in the city of Irkutsk, located in Eastern Siberia, near Lake Baikal. Before discovering my passion for painting, I devoted 13 years of my life to studying music, which is a big part of my life. To me, music is love, inspiration and a source of energy.

I started my art education in 2012 at the Faculty of Design, after which I continued my training with several online schools and through self-teaching.

Nowadays, I completely devote myself to painting in my studio, which feels like the place to be.

I welcome you to my page and I hope you enjoy my work, which I created with an endless love for art.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
