Description

I work mainly with transparent oil paints using thin melted oil. The paintings are painted in layers of watercolor, and their expressions change depending on the lighting and the time of day when they are viewed. The original motif was a corner of the Chinju-no Mori forest. I feel as if I was diving deeper and deeper into the landscape, and at some point I hit the bottom of the water. This is a work that I would especially like you to stand in front of the actual work and look at it.

Concept

I have an interest in the relationship between ourselves and scenery.

A familiar view is a segment that offers continuity to our bodies and souls, and provides the foundation for our daily lives.

However, when our connections to our surrounding scenery is shaken by disaster, or a move to a new location, the hold on our own reality is rendered uncertain.

The things that encircle we living things are, in turn, life itself.

I reflect the places I physically walk through every day as oil paintings spread across the flat surfaces of canvases, searching among the points of contact between our mutual consciousnesses and the way we ought to be, for a third field of vision.

As long as there is a horizon and depth in a field of vision, our imaginations will discover a new profoundness therein.

Does this art work need a frame?

In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
