Concept

Fujishima TOM is an artist from Kagawa, Japan. His inspiration is all things beautiful. The beauty that resides in the earth. His motifs are all beautiful things, from inorganic objects such as stone and earth to nature and the energy of life. His creative influences include Aboriginal art, folk art, and arte povera. He is also strongly influenced by traditional painting, especially Japanese art. He respects the spirit and expression of beauty that has been passed down from generation to generation in Japanese art, such as the Rimpa school of painters Hasegawa Tohaku and Ogata Korin, and his creative activities are based on his desire to carry on the sensitivity and pursuit of beauty that the Japanese people have in this age. He is not particular about technique or style. He seeks all the possibilities that are best suited to express the subject matter. He works with watercolor, acrylic, colored pencil, ink, sumi ink, glue, collage, semi-3D, etc., utilizing the possibilities of all painting materials. He also incorporates digital expression in some of his works.
