    Description

An original mineral painting, made with 24k gold, crushed minerals (natural and synthetic), oyster shells and gold-coated mica on Japanese paper mounted on a wood panel. Natural colors include precious and semi-precious stones. Because these substances consist of unique chemical and physical properties, every artwork has unique characteristics and a story to tell, with a sense of connection to the earth. It is highly textured with a matt and rich sand-like appearance.

This large painting is the artist's first maiden work. What originally inspired her to paint was the cityscapes of Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is a city in India known as the “golden city” that gleams in gold-like colors at sunset. The city shimmered like a piece of gold jewelry, reminding her of jewelry that retains its shine even after a thousand years. She felt a strong desire to capture them in paintings and set out to do so. Presents the sceneries seen through her eyes in an art form.

In mint condition, Certificate of Authenticity included and calligraphy seal in front, hand-signed at the back. Sold unframed and ready to hang (eye bolt and string mounted at the back).

  • About this artist

    Concept

Mitsumori's research investigates the root of everything that could exist in Border and executes it through a visual language that balances realism and abstraction. This begins with taking invisible abstract concepts such as time and emotion and bringing them to a higher dimension by presenting them with shadows, shapes, colors, and textures in actual landscapes and architecture. By assigning a visual vocabulary to a concept such as time, the artist express a reality that cannot be seen with the eye yet is certainly there.
