    Description

Nakamitsuki explores the relationship between the physicality of painting and contemporary visual expression, and creates his paintings by drawing preliminary sketches using an iPhone and an application, then applying acrylic paints and mediums to the canvas. The rough surface of his paintings, which are based on the motif of a guitar and painted while actually listening to a performance, reveals an overflowing passion and the vigorous power of his elongated lines. This work focuses on the non-verbal communication of music, which is Naka's usual motif, and on the way of life and thinking brought about by the terminal devices he has come to use as a result of his own experiences, and aims to provide an opportunity to pause, think, and dialogue about history, human interaction, and modern ways of life that have continued since ancient times, rather than the language of music. The aim of the exhibition is to provide an opportunity to pause, think, and dialogue about history, human interaction, and contemporary life. *Framed

  • About this artist

    Concept

Naka examines the impulsiveness that rises from the body and contemporary visual expression, drawing a vast number of historical music data and records from the contemporary music scene and distribution subscrip tion services on a virtual canvas with the most popular electronic device iPhone and applications, and using the preliminary drawings as the basis for output and acrylic paint The artist uses a method of painting with acrylic paint based on the rough sketch. The work is based on the complex intertwining of images of music, people's history, and communication from a non-verbal perspective, which can be expressed by moving back and forth between reality and digital space through the use of paint and devices. Digital technology and terminal devices have evolved to become an indispensable part of our lives. Naka spent his teenage years as a paraplegic with thoughts that kept working in direct contrast to his paralyzed and immobile body. In order to leave a living trace, he kept bringing his fingers to the iPhone screen, which he could hold with one hand. The lines he drew with his fingers expressed his inner impulsiveness, and eventually he developed a strong interest in other people, which led to his current production. By incorporating these perceptions of his own science and technology, people's interactions with each other through performance, and the impulsiveness of human beings themselves into his paintings, he throws up new perspectives.
