The subject of my work is Ukrainian cultural heritage. It is my eternal inspiration , but also my eternal pain. My last paintings "Mother", "Choir", "Contralto" were written at the end of 2021, as if I had a premonition of something bad. The painting "Hush" was written in January of this year. It was the calm before the storm.
It hurts me greatly that the world has allowed this war to happen. I do not know what else must fall to the lot of Ukrainian people to earn their "place under the sun" and how many more lives of Ukrainians must be given for it. None of the ordinary people needed this war. When man allows human lives to be lost, humanity itself is lost first. Despite the rapid development of tolerance and compassion , humanity has made a big mistake and is now taking a big step back.
Life is divided into "before" and "now. The "after" will come at the end of the war. "After" I will need to learn how to deal with hatred and resentment, and how to deal with this pain. "Now" I want to help the Ukrainian people and the Ukrainian army as much as possible. All the proceeds from the sale of my works will be donated to the civilian population of Ukraine and the Ukrainian army.
I believe that in this war, the light will defeat darkness and Ukraine will gain freedom from russian occupiers. And very soon, together with the whole world, we will celebrate the historic victory of good over evil.
I believe in the Ukrainian people and the army. I believe in my country. I believe in the worldwide support of Ukraine. I also want to believe in justice.
