This original linocut artwork was inspired by the animals in circuses and the relationship between humans and these animals. Despite the bright colors and smiles of the circus performers, there is often a carefree attitude towards animals, which is portrayed in this work. The artist strongly believes in putting an end to animal abuse wherever and whenever possible.
'Circus' is a limited edition of 30 prints, each individually numbered and signed. Every aspect of the linocut, from the initial drawing and design to the carving and printing, is carefully crafted by hand. The ink used in the print produces vibrant and textured colors, bringing the image to life.
The artwork features an elephant on stage with people observing it. Upon closer inspection, only one person in the audience appears to have a heart. This work serves as a powerful symbol of the cruelty inflicted upon animals in circuses, while also providing hope that there are still individuals who think differently.
The artwork is printed on Fabriano Unica acid-free printing paper, which is made with 50% cotton. The printed image size measures 21 W x 18 H cm / 8.27 W x 7.09 H inches, while the paper measures approximately 25 W x 23.5 H cm / 9.84 W x 9.25 H inches.
As a handmade product, there may be minor imperfections that add to the charm and character of the artwork. Each print comes titled and signed by the artist in pencil, making it a unique addition to any art collection.
