Description

Mixed media on archival quality paper. On a late afternoon in August I went to the beach with my friend Anna. We had what probably was our last swim of the year in the ocean. The light was perfect . I thought I would make a work out Anna enjoying the cold waters of the Attlantic ocean. This is a mixed media work . I took a silkscreen print and cut out some of the parts I liked and also used embroidery as well as hand painted background. I like working with different materials on the same work. It makes my imagination fly and it is a challenge to get something out of recycled pieces.

Concept

I consider myself mainly a figurative painter. The imagery I use in my paintings is retrieved from various sources: in my immediate surroundings , also from pictures I take of objects, scenes, landscapes and people , or just images I make up in my mind or the combination of all . Another great source of images are magazines and internet.

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
