Concept

Uwe Michael Neumann is a German photographer who lived in Central Africa for several years and continues to have diverse relationships with Africa. He has been involved in photography since childhood. In Africa he mainly devoted himself to landscape and animal photography, but also to everyday life. He has traveled to around 60 countries and is always curious to discover new cultures and landscapes. With his photos he would like to show unknown places or well-known places from an unfamiliar perspective. He often shows colourful motifs, but occasionally also uses 3-D and other effects. Monochrome or black-and-white images are rarely found with him, because he is of the opinion, "Life is not black and white, but diverse and colourful."

Biography

Uwe Michael Neumann developed a love of photography when he got his first camera, a Polaroid, at the age of eight years old. From 1982 to 1988, Neumann diverted from photography, studying law at Cologne State University.
In November 2014, Neumann attended the wedding of a daughter of the Sultan of Foumban, Cameroon. There he met and became friends with the famous French photographer, Alain Denis who inspired him to become a professional photographer.
After his life-changing visit to Cameroon in 2014 Neumann returned there in February 2015. During his stay in Cameroon he travelled frequently to Equatorial Guinea and other neighboring countries.
His works have been featured in several exhibitons and Magzines.
