Concept

Using dress template for construction to create series objects to have clay catwalk. For this project, I am interested in applying the fashion tailoring technique into ceramics. By using tailoring process in clay body, I could explore a fresh approach to show unique quality in ceramics. What interests me is what I don’t know about before. Without any fashion background, I would like to begin working on the variety of basic dress pattern cutting from the shapeless, and then use the basic techniques of tailoring such as knitting, stitching, pleating ect. to re-create and model to become new forms by using clay instead of fabric. Each piece is unique and they also have their own character as dress. By crossing different quality from ceramics and fashion, which to provoke people to have more curiosities from my works. For the final outcome, I would like to have sort of ‘fashion show’ but in clay.
