Concept

Having developed throughout the past years a body of work , focused on figurative, informal and symbolic art. Taking into account the human figure , his roles and his surrounding...creating an image that transform , integrate and coverage the different visual stimulus , which does not pretend to be dogmatic but the opposite, allowing the power of transfer of what I "choose" according to what the piece guides me to create in it. My work as a visual artist ,more than a critic of today ́s contemporary society it is a confirmation of " the change " taking place: ...from an era of images creation to an era of manipulation of such, through out different emotional cultural signal. Aimed to provoque a question thought the image, generating a space for a dialogue necessary to the answer that come from the observer ( the expert or client ) according to his understanding capacity and his culture. " The Forest" ( spring ) was inspired by the Alcornocales forest. " The Beach " ( summer) took as a reference Cala Sardina in Cadiz. " The Clift " ( Fall ) at the Deia Mallorca . " The Road ( winter ) a way to Guadiaro river in Andalucia.

Biography

In 1972 he studied Techniques of Oil Paintings with the American Painter Thomas Daskan. In the meantime, he studied Design in Visual Communications at the University of Chile. In 1978 he travelled to USA where he worked as Art Director for two important advertising companies. In 1982 he went back to Chile and collaborated in the illustration of different magazine covers. In the same year he won a scolarship from the Italian Govermment for specialization in Design and Restoration at the International University of Art in Florence, Italy.
He also took part in group and personal exhibitions and has worked as a portrait artist in several European and American cities. His work is held in private and public collections. Since 1982 he has been living and working in Florence, Amsterdam and Los Angeles .
In 1996 he came back to Santiago and created a Design Agency in Chile. He also took part of a group “Otros Diseñadores” which dedicated itself to Design and participated at the Saint Etienne,Bienal Of Design .France
