Raised in rural England an affinity with the natural world is part of my DNA, my childhood revolved around spending time out of doors. As a young adult I moved to London where I completed a degree in Fine Art and Contemporary Dance. Following my studies I pursued a career in dance, stage magic, aerial circus arts and stunt wing walking before taking up Visual Art full time. I concentrated my early works on honing my observational and draftsmanship skills by drawing detailed studies from nature. I had international success with a collection of photo-realistic wildlife drawings and was commissioned for animal and botanical work.
As painting became my main career the artwork evolved a more fantastical leaning undoubtedly influenced by my experiences as a performer. From a style very much grounded in reality emerged a new style of imagination and altered perspectives. My paintings have evolved into surreal and colorful metaphorical mindscapes kindled by countless hours marveling the wonders of nature and ignited by the euphoria of exploring its mysteries.
