Previously an activewear designer, she devotes her time into art creation and illustration with her passion for painting. She has been a dancer, a painter since early age which cultivated her good sense in creative art. Her life experience has resulted in her tendency to seek peace in turbulence and flexibility in repetitive patterns.
Ling-An’s style has a strong focus on geometric design, manipulating various elements to challenge the thin line between virtual world and reality. She enjoyed dancing in front of everyone when she was little, therefore her mother sent her to ballet class and there she began her 10 years journey as a ballet dancer. She has been a talented and skilful individual since her childhood. In high school, she was forced to give up in order to meet her parent’s expectations. With the struggle to find a balance between social expectations and self-actualisation comes her style to divide images and create a lost feeling between virtuality and reality.
Ling-An studied Fashion Design in University, she spent a lot of time observing the fashion style of Taiwanese people. While she was people watching, she also discovered plenty of problems residing in relationships between people. She found that the fundamental root to this problem is the lack of education and established values since childhood. This has led her to reflect on her own journey growing up and learning from different situations. She has a sentimental character and easily influences by others ‘mindless actions.
Telling her stories in order to make others with similar experience not feel alone through the energy in her work. Ling An wants to others to learn how to detach themselves like her work, and just feel without overthinking. The important thing for the audience is to take the energy from the art into themselves. She believes art is a tool to express and communicate feelings to everyone and expect to bring more ideas through her creation into this world either go
