Concept

My work as an artist is to stimulate the imagination, anchor ancient civilizations in the present, and bring hope to believe in a spiritual world. My life story was very black and white, filled with childhood traumas, and great international success, consequently, I always preferred to gravitate towards the light to escape reality. My art is spiritual because it touches the subject of God, creation, and life. My art fits into a larger societal conversation because I believe all types of media, social, news channels, and television need more inspirational content. My objective is to stimulate everyone to discover previous worlds and bring positivity, self-improvement, and curiosity to the forefront of culture. I would like to accomplish just that with my art, representing ancient civilizations from the point of view of the creator empowers the viewer to feel the strength of the human race, and the individual, through the use of architectural techniques. I arrived at this particular form of expression through my studies and travels all over the world, in India, Asia, Mexico, Indonesia, South America, United States, and Europe.

Biography

Alex Colard is the grandson of French sculptor Lucien Colard. Genetics gifted him with an appreciation and understanding of art while his grandfather taught him drawing techniques.

After formal art school in France, Alex moved to New York City in 2005 at age 20. There he continued to study art and architecture. He worked in New York for 11 years as an architectural designer and artist, created the art department at Goldsmith-mannequins, and exhibited and sold his work in the showroom, where prestigious clients like Macy’s, Bloomingdales, H&M and others came to shop.

In April 2017, Alex moved to Stockholm and created his practice, making and selling his art. Since then he has had 23 exhibitions in galleries, restaurants, hair salons, stores, and at events. He collaborated with Hewlett Packard in December 2018 to print on demand at the Lobby Store, he is very active on the art scene thanks to his plateform Art Exhibitions in Stockholm, and sells various types of artworks ranging from fine art giclée prints to canvases, and commissions.
