Dimitri is a self-taught French-Tahitian artist. He has been painting for more than 20 years.
Originally inspired by the aboriginal Australian culture, he has refined the technique of acrylic textured strongly influenced by his travels, love of children, ocean, animals, and nature, and after years of practice definitely developed his own style he called later as Raw Pop Art. His canvases have wings, his paintings are carrier pigeons. They fly the characters across the world, spreading their messages like Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Aéropostale.
Becoming an artist was not a conscious decision. It was no choice at all. Life chose for me, and I am forever grateful to her, said Dimitri. With his insatiable hunger for freedom, it was the best calling, because who is more emancipated than an artist?
Now, painting that freedom on a canvas, that is the real challenge. The challenge of a lifetime.
Still feeling like a child at heart, Dimitri easily plays with colors, shapes, and structures, creating unique and one-of-a-kind works of art. Working with mixed media, acrylic, and collages, his paintings are full of colors, emotions, and happiness. He prefers medium and large works of art, but also have series made on small canvases and works on paper.

Dimitri was born and raised in the French Alps. His love for nature, travel, freedom, living outside the box without mental boundaries, fettering consciousness, and way of thinking was inherited from his open-minded parents.
As a passionate surfer since the age of 15, he started circling the globe in a search of perfect waves and meaningful adventures. He learned to paint and was influenced by art in many different countries.

His love of the ocean led him to become a professional skipper. He crossed the Pacific and Indian oceans, cruised the Caribbean following his passion for travel, discovering remote places, and meeting new people.
A pioneer of the world-famous wave Teahupoo in Tahiti, which he called home in the '90s, he fells in love with French Polynesia where he remained almost 30 years and befriended all legendary surfers and acquired a reputation as a prominent surfer and enthusiast painter.

Originally inspired by the aboriginal Australian culture, he has refined his technique of acrylic textured strongly influenced by his travels and his love for children, animals, and nature. After years of practice, he developed his own style constantly experimenting with color, texture, and shape.
His artworks are found in private collections in Europe, the USA, Tahiti, Indonesia, Russia.

Finally deciding to devote his whole life to his Artwork, a few years ago he moved permanently to Bali, Indonesia, where he found his new home.
