Giuseppe Festino in art "Fenice/Phoenix" was born in Melfi on 4 March 1983 in Lucania, where he currently lives and carries out his artistic activity. He comes to self-taught painting after having devoted himself to drawing for many years as a form of intimate expression. He develops his artistic research starting from the use of wax crayons, overlapping them and then scratching them. Subsequently in 2015 he transferred the technique acquired on canvas using only strong, intense and contrasting acrylic colors or using a few warm colors that give a result of extreme expressiveness and concreteness. Fenice prefers to portray mainly women, grasping the psychological and spiritual dimension or representing the expressions of his soul from which a melancholy vein flows. His works have been exhibited in various exhibitions, galleries and international competitions such as the "Bienal de Arte Barcelona" at the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, "Italian Vanity Art Exhibition" at the Gallery of Light in Dubai, "MeArt - International Mediterranean Biennial ”of Palermo, The Arsenal Foundation of Iseo, the Museum of the Compass and the Duchy of Amalfi, The Bramante Halls of Rome, Rocca Brivio Sforza, Rocca dei Rettori of Benevento, Milan Art Gallery, Il Melograno Art Gallery, Ea Gallery and Porta Coeli International Art Gallery. The artist has received awards and recognitions and his works appear in catalogs and art magazines, receiving reviews by Paolo Levi, Vittorio Sgarbi, Massimiliano Porro, Sandro Serradifalco, Serena Carlino, Fulvia Minetti and Antonio Castellana.
