    Description

    Vision
    (Blurred flowers)
Still life paintings that talk about mirages. Absolutely concrete tangible objects can become blurred in vision. It relates to instability of this world and life in general. For this series Elizaveta choose beautiful objects such as flowers to represent beautiful things like love, dream, hope…

She intentionally chose watercolour technic and gave this medium to collide with basement. Moving, blurred, transparent colours dropping, mixing in a free way, living its own life.

This is a Zen conversation about life, movement, changes and its eternity.

    Concept

Selezneva Elizaveta is a Russian-born artist, working on contemporary art and fashion, by creating stylish and emotional art pieces, specialising on expressive abstracts.

Her art talks about her psychological, philosophical and religious artistic analysis, which is rooted with Russian avant-garde movement. Also her free-style expressive abstracts has been influenced by Cy Twombly, where an artist is free as child. In order to create her expressive abstract painting, as in meditation she relaxes her body and mind and tries no longer analyse and question anything. Her moves are very easy and relaxed, as if a dance she creates an artwork. Through this approach deep subconscious is released and leads to very naive, hones and intimate conversation between artist and canvas. This way artist itself is an art and painting simply its continuation.

Through colourful, bright and simple objects such as flowers, nature, human body (etc.) she hides meanings that would represent hidden visions that relies to different topics of her philosophical research. For example series of "prayers" that depicted initially familiar to the eye inconspicuous garden objects such as bushes and fruits, talks about full intentional concentration to art. It requires complete dedication to conversation with something invisible (inspiration). Here she draws a parallel to an idea of religion. Chosen asceticism looks alike to lifestyle of an artist, where sketches are daily prayers and relationship with art is deep and very intimate as conversation of believer with God in a prayer. These thoughts can lead as to even deeper idea where an artist is actually united within art and God. Painter as believer is in a spiritual connection with (Holy) spirit and it drives him to depict things like love, peace, fear and other unconscious states of soul.

Elizaveta is an open-minded, easy and relaxed traveler in this life and world. She lived, studied and obtained her life experience in Paris (France), London (UK), Florence, Rome, Milan (Italy), Moscow, Saint Petersburg (Russia). She speaks Russian, English and Italian, and practises flexibility of a brain through learning different cultures and philosophies.
