A large acrylic abstract painting ready to hang with a wire and d rings at the back. The background is a charcoal/black and the sides are painted the same colour. It is painted in vibrant colours of pinks and magenta and it has textured brush strokes.
A certificate of authenticity signed by the artist is supplied. The artwork is registered in the National Registry of Australian Art And Artists. Registration details supplied.
I love the vitality of the natural world and the way that plants put all their energy in to flowering intensely and just being the best they can be. I wanted to capture that exuberance by painting abstract flowers with strong uplifting colours which could ignite a sense of joy in others.

Concept

ARTIST STATEMENT:
I seek to explore feelings through my work. I do this with the use of colour, texture and gestural strokes. I enjoy painting in vibrant colours as they lift the spirit and energise us. I also like to paint in soft colours when I want to express emotions of tranquility or fragility. I want people to be moved when they see one of my paintings. I believe that colour has a psychological effect on us and that painting is a medium that can transfer the emotions of the artist on to the canvas to be shared with others. The emotions I attempt to share in this way are always positive. Most commonly the joy of being alive, the beauty of nature or the quiet reflection of a pensive state. I enjoy painting large pieces as they allow me to be completely immersed in the painting. I like to be experimental with tools and materials and to produce something unique and personal. Most recently I have been teaching abstract art classes which is something I also feel passionate about.

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
