Acrylic mixed media - a colorful artwork, made with different shades of green, orange, blue with white acrylics. Highlights and traces are set with pastel and acrylic marker.

Signed on the front. The sides are painted white but with light visible traces of the development of the painting.

The canvas is stretched on a wooden frame with a solid hanger and is ready to hang. Framing is not required. A thin layer of varnish protects the artwork against UV light and dust.

Concept

"My name is Kirsten Schankweiler. I am an contemporary abstract artist based in Mainz, Germany. I have been painting full time since 2011. Since 2012 I’m representing my artworks in my showroom galerie mainz in Mainz.

Nature is the inspiration for my abstract paintings. I love to work with materials, colors and layers. My paintings are an expression of emotions, experiences, thoughts and dreams. Starting with a basic sense of color and composition each layer guides the next. Every layer leaves his own marks as a part of progression. It’s a creative discovery guided by my inner voice and my intuition.

My intention is to create paintings that are truthful and real, paintings with depth and harmonic vibration, paintings that are compelling from a distance and up close.

Viewers are invited to experience the interaction of colors and structures, the overall expression of the artwork."

In many cases, art works with a canvas stretched over a wooden frame can be displayed as is. Thin art works other than canvases are easier to frame. For any questions or concerns please chat us.

What kind of hardware should I use for hanging the artwork?

If you are concerned about repayment costs, such as when renting a house, wall pins and hooks that do not leave noticeable hole marks are available at major DIY Store and art supply stores.

If you want to hang a canvas with a hook, a hook type with a long hooking surface, such as a V-shaped type is recommended.

If there is a string on the back of the canvas or the back of the frame, you can hang it with a pin type that has a short hooking surface.
