The series of silkscreen prints is based on the concept of "modern Ukiyo-e," which is a type of Ukiyo-e that consists of both woodblock prints and hand painted prints. The prints are made by layering three plates on top of each other, and are printed by hand using a combination of transparent acrylic, opaque acrylic, and special paints to calculate the overlapping of colors. The prints are made by daring to shift the plates little by little, and the blurring of lines creates a mysterious three-dimensional effect. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, with a different color pattern, and is numbered serially in the order of production. The woodblock print artist Hiroshi Yoshida expressed the change of time and seasons in his landscapes by changing colors in the same plate, and by doing the same with portraits, there is an element of visual experimentation in which the same girl gives a different impression (personality, emotions at the time, etc.) by using different colors and contrasts. In this work, four silkscreen works were combined into one and framed. I hope you will enjoy the contrast of visual effects caused by the color and type of paint and the combination of each.
