Toyo Funmi Alayo is a 28year old female artist from Nigeria with a chemistry degree passionate about art.
In 2017, she joined the Association of Revolutionary Artists in College and the challenge to be better at art began. She self-taught through observing other artists in the group and using the internet and got better by practice.

She was born and bred in Lagos Nigeria where she was exposed to the way of life of different tribes within and outside the country being a cultural metropolis. Her desire is to make something out of art started when she realized she could create semi-realistic art in junior high when compelled to draw a man dancing in a subject she offered. She was excited she could finally express her love for people and culture through art.

Her deepest desire and inspiration is to make the world see beauty in African experience. Her African roots have always been significant to her and she's proud of her country, her people and their collective experiences. She currently own an art studio where she explores and pursues her love for arts in Lokoja Kogi State, Nigeria.
She paints majorly in series and also do one-off paintings. She reflects people, culture, ethnicity, societal values and menace in her works.

She uses acrylic and oil on canvas media for my paintings. Graphite and charcoal for drawings of portraits, landscape and lifestyle.

In 2021, her work was accepted for the Vogue II exhibition at the Boomer art gallery, London, UK
2018 through 2020 she's done countless commissioned works across Nigeria.
In 2017 she had my first group exhibition with the ARA group at AAUA, Nigeria
