I grew up and took my first steps as an artist in Uzbekistan and then traveled over 2,500 miles to Russia to complete my education. It had a huge impact on my life, broadening my horizons significantly. My work combines the strict rules of Russian academicism and bright motifs of Uzbek culture. I draw what touches me; art is inextricably linked with me: I let emotions and impressions pass through me in order to find answers to the questions that concern me most. Each work is a cast of my consciousness and current state at the moment. I draw inspiration from childhood memories and life events. I try to convey global events, such as a pandemic or war, through the prism of personal experiences, because I believe that events of such magnitude can only be sincere when shown through lived experience.
I characterize my style as “conditional realism.” Academic drawing is my tool for creating an image that is understandable to the viewer. I like to “play” with space, break perspective, embellish reality, but at the same time, achieve realism in the depiction of people, architecture, and similar things in order to convince the viewer of the verisimilitude of what is happening in the picture, thereby creating my own reality. be updated
