Nelli Herbst was born in a small village in northern Kazakhstan. At the age of 9, she immigrated with her family to Germany. Nelli's mother tongue was Russian. This made the first time in Germany difficult. Often she did not feel understood.

Nelli Herbst was born in a small village in northern Kazakhstan. At the age of 9, she immigrated with her family to Germany. Nelli's mother tongue was Russian. This made the first time in Germany difficult. Often she did not feel understood.

Early on, she recognized art as an outlet for herself to release pent-up emotions. In this way, art became a means for her to process her "inner self."

The first public art exhibition of Nelli Herbst was in November 2018. In the exhibition „Kunst.Geschwister“ the artist presented her impressionist and abstract works in the context of a vernissage, to an enthusiastic audience.
