Concept

I live in a real world with all its difficulties, thoughts, problems, challenges, excitements, amazements, moments of inspiration, happiness and and pleasure. Often artists paint things that surround them and I probably belong to the painters who are inspired by nature. However, at the same time I love to create my own world on a white canvas, tiny provocations and to combine controversial things. It should incite the audience to thinking and co-authority. I love to experiment with different techniques but using oil or acrylic paints on canvas is the most preferred by me.

Biography

Iryna Zastavna was born in Siauliai, Lithuania. In 1978 she moved to Kyiv, Ukraine, where she lives and works at present. She graduated from National Academy of Fine Art and Architecture in 1989. Iryna studied at the art-graphic faculty and she can work in various graphical techniques, but for a long time she has been using oil and acrylic paints on canvas. As an artist, she is inspired by both simple and complicated things like philosophical thoughts and controversies which are embodied on her canvases as tiny provocations.
