Concept

Over the last 2 years, I have been carrying my film camera with me everywhere. I take photos of everyday things, street life and architecture. The simplicity and the right way of storytelling are two of the most important aspects for me in photography. Street photography enables me to see everyday life from a different angle. It is all about the small moments that make our days special. My concept is very simple. I do not use sophisticated cameras, I do not use any photo editors, I take my Minolta XD11 and have a walk in the city where I live.

Biography

I was born in 1996 in Yerevan, Armenia, a post-soviet, war torn country with a big heritage of brutalist and soviet-futuristic architecture. My background in Architecture helps me understand how forms and colors, light and shadow define what we see and what we feel, even at the unconscious level. It formed the way I see the cities and the environment around me.
It all started when in 2018 I discovered my father's old Zenit 12XP. I went to a local store, bought a couple of rolls of Kodak 200 and took my first photos. After that analogue photography became my passion and totally changed my life.
