Concept

My research is to make the relation between the human being and the impalpable dimension which generates chaos clear The human condition is immersed in a wonderful state of asymmetrical b alance and harmony which appear in a continuous generating of possibilities. Rocked by this constant sequence of generating events, man sometimes lets himself be carried away by the tid e, sometimes tries to chart his own course . The particular vision of each individual therefore determines the choice of a direction under the non absolute predictability of the events and their infinite variables, which become a fundamental value in deviations from the main paths. In this primordial chaos, where chaos is not synonymous with chaotic, but of this wonderful asymmetrical balance, every choic e r epresents a variation in the wandering of existence and offers new lifeblood under the form not of certain answers, but of other question ma rks that become the driving force of life itself In my works, unexpected motions. Capturing a fragment of the experiential memory that each subject object preserves deep inside, in the surfaces faded by time and in the hidden folds of the inner motions. I isolate a vision from chaos, presenting a rich image o f t he evolutions of time, space, the unpredictable and of life The observer can freely look for himself in every little nuance, recognize himself in the external form but also in the expe rie nce necessary to reach it, guided by the pleasure of finding his own essence, perhaps through art Photography, painting, metals, terracotta and wood of an abstract informal.

Biography

Mark
Cattaneo was born in 1975, in the Padua province.
An experiential approach based on the direct experimentation of techniques and materials, incorporating them to his own irrep
lac eable
vision, will be a dominant constant throughout his research path.
Since 2010, the artist's production has mainly focused on
photography, sculpture and material painting through metals, resins,
terracotta and wood , concentrated on a process of abstraction of the subject from the chaos of reality, now reset in a dimension of
isolation in which the peculiar external qualities reveal the inner truths of the earthly condition.
The materials and techniques become different languages to talk about the aesthetic and structural, relational and emotional
components, in the numerous degrees of consciousness, which are at the basis of human events, full of questions, mistakes and ne w
experiences and of life running.
In 2017 the cycle of abandonment of works begins with the
Series 7 , made of raku ceramics with the integration of wood, iron and
different filaments, scattering them among the spaces dedicated to art in the context of the Venice Biennale, as well as scat ter ed along
the streets of the same city, freeing them to an unknown fate
They follow in evolved
versions , Serie 8 Venezia, Serie 9 Roma, Serie 1196 Veneto.
During these years the ongoing research on the
experiential memory of matter through the deterioration of metal, the application of
objets trouvés (founded objects) or their incorporation, the addition of acrylics and soils and time passing by, in successive stratificatio ns
with lengths of up to 18 months into more material situations, together with the weather conditions of the place of evolution
Inspired
by the photographic view of Mario Lasalandra , approaches photography as a visual project.
