Concept

These flowers in their brilliant red-orange hues flame the cities and country-sides all across India during the spring months of February to April . This year and last, I could not step out of home during this period due to worldwide pandemic but through art, could soak in their beauty as I painted them. Done with spatula and brush work, along with textured background to break the monotony of the blue sky, interpersed with wispy, willowy clouds. This work is done in triptych mode in three separate canvases, each with their own identity and composition, yet harmonious when displayed together. The centre canvas of size 19 x 24 inch and the side panels of size 9.5 x 24 inch each. The total size comes to 38 x 24 inches. This gallery wrapped canvas has thickness of the 2 inch all over on the sides and has been painted on the sides too in same theme for all the three canvases, so that it looks beautiful from all angles.

Anukta’s magical strokes breathe a symphony of the world around her, as she goes about celebrating life through her colours.

The horizon of her works is beyond the boundaries of categorization. Just as many India(s) breathe within one India, having had a multicity upbringing and career, Anukta gives an ode to that diversity through her works. Ever inspired by the spaces she inhabits, the places she visits and the people she meets, her works are mostly personal insights and associations from the extraordinary to the obvious. Colours, forms and lines play a special interest in her works done mostly in representational, contemporary realistic style.

Rising above from her corporate avatar of over a decade, Anukta bid adieu to her successful career and embarked on a new adventure to complete a two year online Diploma course in drawing and painting, with a certificate of distinction from the London School of Art, while also honing her skills through guidance from professional artists.
For Anukta painting is not merely about the end result. in a world that is standing at the brink of chaos, Anukta believes in the redemptive power of art. Her strokes cast a magical spell of positivity and cheerfulness on the audience, reaching not only the heart but the very soul of those who take respite in art.

Anukta’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows across India and abroad. Her paintings and commissioned projects adorn homes and corporate houses across India and worldwide in the US, UK, New Zealand and Dubai. Among her noted commissioned works are the ones for ITC Ltd., Speciality Restaurants Ltd. ( London) and for a boutique hotel in Mashobra, Simla.

At present her works are available online through international galleries like Saatchi Art and Singulart and in India through NDTV’s Mojarto. They are also available for viewing through her website.
