Takehiko Tsutsumi studied designs at Tokyo University of the Art. While he produces artwork, he also works as a graphic designer. The characteristic of his work is the simplicity of designs which are expressed in his own graphic style. He uses a technique called sputter deposition which splashes particles of acrylic pigments. This creates an unique sand-like surface, a method similar to pointillism which creates optical illusions. By blurring the line between graphic design and art, his paintings raise questions and let the viewers interpret his art for themselves.
