This is a framed photograph printed on an Alu Dibond behind mat acrylic glas, with a shadow gap.
This framed print from the "Drowning Leaves" series is limited to 5 pieces. ---- On walks trough the woods I discovered how beautiful leaves in puddles are.
I photographed them and thought about a deeper meaning - Life and Death - in general and based on leaves.
I came to the conclusion that leaves show our lifespan in a small amount of time. Green = Birth, they grow up and are safe at home (on a tree). They're falling (need to live on their own). And where they're falling gives them the life they have to live. So they're getting old and die. In this short amount of time it shows how beautiful they are - their personality and colors, which are all beautiful and no one can judge. Then there is death - drowned, rotten, old leaves. But all this is beautiful in their life space. That's why this is artwork is called sad. Because sad, sometimes, can be beautiful.
