    Description

Bug Report] 20220426 I think capitalism has accelerated the urge to "maximize efficiency. Constant and low volatility is important because it is easy to control and to keep track of progress. For example, stable opportunities and brainwashed human resources are factors that can maximize profits. It is quite possible that various bugs (computer programs, mental illnesses, and chemical effects on the human body) may have occurred as a result. I would like to think that our lives, for better or for worse, have come at the expense of these people, from whom we have learned a great deal and have made various improvements up to the present day. I hope that in the future, all people will be able to lead affluent lives. Of course, it is easy to imagine that new bugs will occur due to new devices and mechanisms created by future advanced technologies, but if humans (including AI) living in the even more distant future can understand everything in this world, bugs may not occur. Or, rather, bugs may be the beginning of the world. For "humans" or "AIs" or "those who go beyond" living in such a future, bugs will be a symbol of lack of knowledge. But those who know everything may be bored with nothing to explore and envy those of us who live in the present. Bugs are, in a sense, a manifestation of the modern age and, more broadly, something that is common to all. For example, it could be a factor that makes time stop. In any case, it is just a fiction in the artist's brain, but I would like to report accidental bugs in this series.

  • About this artist

    Concept

As an artist, I am drawn to the interplay of roundness and efficiency. In the world of hunting and farming, I have an inherent affinity for organic circular shapes: the gentle arc of a cultivated field, the curvature of a well-worn path. But when I contemplate industry, I perceive a different energy: squareness that speaks to precision, structure, and purpose.

This duality is used across disciplines. It is the lens through which I view both the natural and the manmade. The softness of a dew-kissed petal, the rugged edges of a manmade skyscraper, they coexist and inform each other.

But beyond aesthetics lies a deeper conviction: our current trajectory, fueled by profit-driven standards and constant optimization, will eventually reach its limits. The next era beckons a society truly optimized for balance, not just profit. Perhaps it could be characterized sensorily by rounded square edges. But I use square representations because we’re not there yet.
