Cristina Bergamo is a self-taught artist who develops a work in the field of Geometric Abstractionism and Visual Arts, we can observe in her works an inspiration and deep identification with the movements of Constructivism, Suprematism and Neoplasticism, besides presenting a strong connection with the language of the German school "Bauhaus", in this case mainly by the minimalist look on modern architecture and the identification she has with the aesthetics of industrial modernist design objects created from this movement.

She uses photography, digital techniques, and graphic design as creative tools, bringing colors, volumes, graphic and photographic clippings to her works. In this process, she is particularly interested in the illusion of three-dimensionality that results from her compositions.

Her creative process begins from the capture of a photographic image, either of an object or a frame of urban architecture that are later worked with the digital technique, here the work is divided and complemented into two distinct lines: one that she calls "Archdesign Photo" that is developed from photography and in this process the important thing is communication through the choice of selected elements to compose the work. In the 'Geometric Abstraction' line, she uses geometric shapes bringing colors that are preponderantly important to portray the illusion of three-dimensionality that reflect her constructivist vision of the world.

"Everything that surrounds us is subject to many layers of perceptions and unraveling them at every moment depends on many factors, such as the amount of light and shadow, our state of mind, our values, and our physical and spiritual view of the world," the artist seeks to draw this parallel between different universes and the viewer".

Cristina Bergamo is a Brazilian artist who now lives and works in São Paulo. She started her artistic life through theater, attended the University of Performing Arts in São Paulo, and in the late 90's moved to Italy where she continued her studies at the University of Music in Rome.

It was during this period that she began to frequent artistic circles, museums, and art galleries throughout Europe, and from then on it was a step towards the discovery of her true artistic vocation. Modern Abstract Art caught his attention, but especially "Geometric Abstract Art", Neoplasticism, and the universe of architecture, design, and photography of the Bauhaus school. That universe seemed to belong to her since she had always found the perfect form that reflected her purest and truest feelings about life.

It all made sense to a music student who saw the beauty of musical mathematics in every work by Kandinsky, Kazimir Malevich, Mondrian, Paul Klee, as well as in the designs of Marcel Breuer, the photography of Moholy-Nagy, the architecture of Mies Van der Rohe and so many other modernist artists.

She finished her music studies and continued to mature this pure feeling for the plastic arts, being a great challenge for her to face this new artistic facet, she got help and the necessary courage through friends' advice to embark on this adventure and dedicate herself to this new life.

Her intention with art is to lead the viewer to a sensorial perception and awareness of observing the same object or scene from different angles and connecting it with their inner world, often bringing tridimensinality and movement to the center of the discussion.

"I consider music, theater and abstract art to be nuances of the same artistic expression, I hear the sound and movement in colors, just as I see the shapes in musical notes to compose a single work."
