Concept

What is art? Canvas and paint? Paper and pencil? Spray paint and a wall? A sculpture or ceramic piece then glazed? These are things people typically think of when you say art. I, on the other hand, see things differently and by utilizing a variety of mediums such as paint, scrap wood, metal, polymer clay, textiles, graphic design, photo and more, the possibilities remain endless. With visuals ranging from portraits to African wildlife, expressionist to abstract, street art to modern concepts and more, I go wherever my heart desires and my vision decides to conceptualize. I do what I do because of the love and appreciation I have for it. I’m eager and passionate especially when it comes to learning and trying new things. The way I see it, there’s no right way, to do art.

Biography

As a Zambian/American artist, photographer, craftsman, and DIY enthusiast, creating and working with his hands has always been a passion for Mpazi. Having recently obtained his International MBA not to mention his entrepreneurial spirit by design, being a creator of things has allowed him to turn it into an occupation.

Currently residing in the Olympia, WA area, after having moved from New York a few years ago, Mpazi has been fortunate enough to have lived abroad in Geneva, Switzerland along with having traveled to numerous countries around the world. These experiences have influenced the way he visualizes, conceptualizes and interprets art.

His Zambian heritage is also a major inspiration and influence seen throughout the majority of his work, however his experiences with others, his time abroad and ability to see art forms where others might not even feel they exist, continue to be a driving force in the way in which he works and experiments with a variety of different styles and formats.

That said, Mpazi Sinjela Artistry brings life, color, creativity functionality and imagination to any and all willing to follow and support his journey.
