カリム・カレラは、統計科学の学位を取得し、その飽くなき創造性に適した空間を求め、ミラノでの仕事と生活を捨て、海への根源的な欲求に惹かれながら、遅まきながら写真家としての道を歩んできた。

カリムの写真の旅は、徐々に意識的で自伝的な方法で、自分自身、あるいは世界における自分の居場所を探す旅である。 形や色調の選択が徐々に増え、色調の構成が純化されることによって、時間的にも空間的にも動かない写真の概念に到達し、表現がますます抽象化される傾向がある。

この研究は、一見、形式的でスノッブな態度の危険な意味合いを持つが、実は、侵害された自然の痛みの叫びを強調することができる新しいコードの探求である。 自然、特に海に対する愛と脅威に対する人間の意識は、現実に対するほとんどすべての呼び出しを溶解するために、徐々により抽象的な形態を選択させる。 単一平面上にかき集められた原初の要素が、異なる座標でレイヤー上に再デザインされ、希薄、移動、幻想的背景上にある。これは、写真言語が抽象的な次元への勇気ある旅に出るための研究である。
