Aasiri Wickremageは、スリランカ生まれのアーティストで、現在はイギリスのサリー州に住んでいます。建築学を専攻していた彼女は、過去10年間で5つの国と4つの大陸に住んだことのある、ある意味世界的な旅行者でもあります。
そのため、彼女の作品は、彼女が個人的に経験した複数の文化、風景、ランドマークからインスピ...
Aasiri Wickremageは、スリランカ生まれのアーティストで、現在はイギリスのサリー州に住んでいます。建築学を専攻していた彼女は、過去10年間で5つの国と4つの大陸に住んだことのある、ある意味世界的な旅行者でもあります。
そのため、彼女の作品は、彼女が個人的に経験した複数の文化、風景、ランドマークからインスピレーションを得ています。
彼女の作品は、色、線、テクスチャー、ブラシストロークを何層にも重ねることで、風景の経験、その雰囲気、特徴、光、密度を強調しています。彼女は風景の実際の記憶を拡大したり縮小したりして、心の中のストーリーを構築します。彼女は私の作品の中で、建築物と自然環境を相互に関連した存在として含めるようにしています。これは、空間がどのように作品を占めているか、作品を通してどのように関連しているかを問いかけるものだと考えています。
十分なレイヤーが揃ったと感じたら、全体の構成やキャラクターに貢献していると思われるディテールを線で拾い出し、抽象的なフォーマットで提示して、見る人に解決してもらいます。つまり、空間の決定的な状況を示すのです。
