After studying oil painting at Musashino Art University in Tokyo, Asuka Tsutsumi started her artistic career as a painter and art therapist. However, it was not easy to get started; she experienced difficulties fitting in with the art industry and society. Tsutsumi traces her energy on paper by painting colorful dots which represent particles of energy. Through her work, Tsutsumi attempts to help her viewers find their real self. This idea led her to do art therapy which allows her patients to experience emotional relief, organization of thoughts, increased self-esteem, and motivation. Her talent to connect emotions to colors and represent particles of energy helps to understand the relationship between spirituality and art.
