Haruka Kanamaru produces glass art to express the ephemerality of life. She is currently studying at Tokyo University of Arts to receive her Ph.D. The artist has been attracted to glass as an artistic material because of its contradictory elements; fragility and permanence. The designs of her work represent ephemerality, and the glass she uses for the artwork represents permanence.
