This work was inspired by Himeji Castle. The castle is commonly called Shirasagi Castle because of its beautiful white color. In this work, I used gold leaf to decorate a bird, an egret, instead of the castle, to express a cat being transfixed by the beauty of the egret.

Concept

"Nice to meet you. I'm Ai Yamanaka, an animal object artist.
I use a new material called resin clay to create cats, turtles and other familiar creatures.
I have always had a habit of wanting to touch cute animals when I see them. When I stroked an animal, I could feel the warmth of the animal, and at the same time I was relieved, and at the same time I was healed by its existence itself. By touching the animal, you can feel the sense of its presence and the presence of the child, and I hope that through my three-dimensional works, I will be able to provide you with works that make you want to touch them. Also, the use of gold leaf decoration creates a glittering three-dimensional work of art."
