This artwork was drawn based on the motif of ‘light and shadow’. This artwork uses hemp paper for the base and uses whitewash, ink, and natural pigments to draw the artworks. In detail, Mao drew over and over again in both black and white areas to make the layers of the paint.

Mao Morioka creates art by utilizing artworks’ line, surface and gap drawing with the magic drawing. She uses whitewash, ink, and natural pigments to draw the artworks which are able to add texture, thickness, thickness and create visual gaps and tactile effects on the artwork.
Most of the motifs she uses can be found in everyday life such as dogs, homes, and ice creams. Mao Morioka wants to give people a sense of feeling these familiar things from different angles, create new values, and express the fun of simple painting.
